Now, Yoshino et al. demonstrate that administration of the naturally occurring molecule nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), a precursor of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), promotes NAD+ biosynthesis and is effective in restoring normal blood glucose in mice with type 2 diabetes.
